Our Mission Statement
We'd Like to Share our Faith With You!
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through FAITH - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works so that no one can boast." -Ephesians 2:8-9

We are a congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The WELS is the third largest Lutheran church body in the United States. We began in 1850 in Milwaukee, WI.
Today, the WELS has grown into a network of over 1,250 congregations in North America with close to a half million baptized souls served by over 1,240 pastors. The churches of the WELS operate 4 ministerial schools to train pastors and teachers for service in the Word. Together we support over 250 missions in the United States and over 600 congregations and preaching stations world-wide (26 countries spanning 5 continents and served by 100 missionaries and teachers trained in 36 different languages).

Our entire synod walks together in their confession of faith and mission. We, at Faith Lutheran Church, have been in Mt. Pleasant, MI since 1978. We endeavor to preserve and pass on the whole and complete truth as it is found in the Bible.

Therefore, we believe, teach, and confess:
-
that God created all that is seen and unseen in six twenty-four hour days (Genesis 1,2).
-
that God created mankind and He is to determine how we should live (Genesis 1,2)
-
that God is Triune, three persons yet one God, a fact beyond all human understanding (1 Corinthians 8:4; Matthew 28:19)
-
that we have utterly failed to be what God wants and requires of us and therefore he has every right to punish us for our sins and failures (Romans 3:10-11; 6:23).
-
that although many people try to gain favor with God by their "good" lives and works, God has made it clear that no one will get to heaven by their own accomplishments (Proverbs 16:25; Galatians 2:15; James 2:10; Romans 3:20).
-
that God is merciful and has sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to save us - not by telling us what to do - but by actually doing it for us (Hebrews 7:26-27; Galatians 2:16)
-
that Jesus is both true God and true man in one person (John 1:1-2, 14).
-
that Jesus is the only way to receive forgiveness, life, and salvation (John 14:6).
-
that when Jesus died, he paid the full price for all sins of all time and for all the world (1 John 2:2).
-
that Jesus rose from the dead, a fact that assures us of both his divinity and our salvation (Romans 1:4; John 11:25-26).
-
that God gives us the benefits of Jesus' perfect life and death through faith and love (Romans 3:28).
-
that the Holy Spirit works faith through the Word of God, the Sacraments of Baptism, and the Lord's Supper (Romans 10:17; 1 Peter 3:1; Matthew 26:28).
-
that out of love and gratitude to God for saving us, and to give him honor and praise, we want to live God-pleasing lives (Titus 2:14; Psalm 100).
